Wrapping up Process Expo 2017
Food & Beverage

Process Expo is a four-day event taking place at Chicago, IL every two years and organized under the umbrella of the Food Processing Suppliers Association (FPSA), a non-profit global trade association for suppliers in the food and beverage industries. According to the Show official data, over 500 exhibitors participated in the 2017 Show at the McCormick Place Convention Center covering 220,000 square feet of exhibit space and attracting 14,000 industry professionals, marking a 25% increase in international attendees[1].

Even if someone is not directly involved with the food and beverage industries, one might soon realize why the Process Expo is essential and of always increasing importance: in a rapidly changing society, it is interesting to read into the food-demographics, to realize the demands set to the suppliers of the industry and the technological changes they call for[2]. The modern household structure; the shift in the last years from “cheap” to “premium” processed food; the new immigrant ethnicities; the integration of kosher and halal in the mass production; the familiarity over the last decades with new “exotic” tastes and spices making them now indispensable; the demand for portable fresh, healthy and organic foods; the increasing interest into fair-trade products; the new consuming generations, digital, culturally blended, ecologically conscious and aware of sustainability issues: these are just some of the trends which every supplier in the food and beverage industries must take into account in their business. The recent Show marked the second participation of CERTUSS after the successful presence in 2015, this time in a shared booth with our business partner from Canada, Maxi-Therm. As Holger Deimann, President of CERTUSS America underlined, CERTUSS is happy with the overall performance as well as the perfect spot of the booth – not to mention, that attendees from the previous show remembered and immediately recognized the young American daughter-company. Reinforcement at the Booth our sales & service partners from across the states (a special thanks to Christopher Little from Little, Inc. in Connecticut, Dan McCotter from McCotter Energy Systems, Inc. in Wisconsin, Ryan Gilbert from Control Factors – Seattle, Inc. in Washington and Tony Ranallo from Boilersource in Illinois), as well as the owner and CEO of CERTUSS Germany Mathias Brauner accompanied by his wife Claudia.

Process Expo was the last Show for 2017 to participate in and therefore an excellent occasion for a reunion. CERTUSS gave a private reception for 25 guests among local representatives, clients and business associates. Venue was the Rooftop of London House in Chicago Downtown. Besides the cocktails and the finger food, highlight of the reception was the breathtaking view of the Chicago River, Lake Michigan and the Magnificent Mile. Thank you all for your presence and efforts, see you soon!
