Ramsbury Brewery, based in Wiltshire, specializes in brewing traditional, real ales. In April 2013 CERTUSS UK Ltd were invited to tender for a project by specialist brewery supplier Moeschle (UK) Ltd.
Tender details were to supply and commission a Steam Generator and Package Plant Module that would serve a new Micro Brewery for Ramsbury Brewery in Wiltshire. The required equipment should be capable of meeting the load demand of circa 882 lb/h, a fuel supply of #2 Oil, with the steam production required 8 hours a day, 5 days a week.
CERTUSS prepared a quote for one Junior 500 Generator with a #2 Oil burner. To complete the Generator a CVE (Certuss Verified Equipment) including water treatment was offered. In June 2013 CERTUSS received an order for the supply of the equipment with full commissioning of the plant taking place October 2013. Until today CERTUSS still carry out annual servicing of the plant.
Even though the Generator supplied had a higher steam output than required, Ramsbury is able to modulate the steam output thanks to the CERTUSS two-stage modulating burner. Therefore no excess steam is produced and energy can be saved.
